We are a woman-owned private practice focused on supporting women and parents.
We offer consultation, psychotherapy, and community events for women and parents seeking specialized support from licensed clinical psychologists with over a decade of experience.
They say it ‘takes a village’, but how do we find that village? What and who does the village need to include? What do we do when life throws us curve balls and the village isn’t available in the ways you need? We know…it’s overwhelming and you don’t have time and energy to figure it out all by yourself!
Founded by doctoral-level licensed clinical psychologists who met and bonded over their love for working in integrated care settings with multidisciplinary teams, It Takes A Village is a private practice focused on utilizing psychotherapy to promote caregiver wellness. We each have our own areas of expertise with a collective goal to help families thrive despite the challenges of growing your family, raising children, and navigating physical and mental health challenges in a world of imperfect healthcare systems. We aim to help expecting parents all the way through seasoned parents and even grandparents identify tools, resources, and new perspectives on how to increase joy and reduce stress.
Dr. Aubrey Carpenter brings lived experience as a parent and over a decade of clinical, research, and teaching experience to her mission to support parents through one of the hardest and most profound transitions they will ever go through. She offers one-time consultations and short-term psychotherapy for parents, caregivers, and pregnant individuals with time-sensitive needs. Dr. Carpenter believes that no parent should have to wait for services when in need of support and already doing so much for others. She is booking into April 2025 with a focus on supporting parents and caregivers, families, and youth with acute healthcare needs (e.g., eating disorders, upcoming medical procedures).
