SERVICES
Initial Consultation with Dr. Legrand or Dr. Carpenter
Online or in person in Richmond, this is for individuals experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, perinatal health concerns, pelvic pain, reproductive health concerns (e.g., perinatal loss, infertility) and related challenges.
Consultation will include completion of online questionnaires, an in-depth assessment, discussion and care coordination with your other providers if appropriate, and recommendations for next steps and services.
We will complete a free of cost phone intake to learn more about your concerns and goals, and this will inform which clinician may be the best fit (Dr. Legrand or Dr. Carpenter)
90 minutes, $250
Initial Parenting-Specific Consultation with Dr. Carpenter

90 minutes, $250
Short-Term Psychotherapy
Online or in person in Richmond, short-term psychotherapy typically includes 4-6 sessions after completing the required initial consultation.
This can be helpful for individuals navigating an acute stressor and/or who do not want to commit to or establish care with a longer term therapist, but who want to be seen quickly (e.g., perinatal health concerns, loss, unexpected transitions or stressors, coping with a new medical diagnosis for yourself or your child). We have found that often times women and parents need help quickly, and it can be an added burden to have to wait months for specialized care and support. We believe that Vermonters deserve immediate support without having to search nationally for out-of-state providers or potentially utilize emergency services because they do not know what else to do.
Scope will be focused on the presenting concern or stressor, and will be personalized to address the individual’s treatment goals.
If additional sessions or broader scope of psychological or psychiatric support is found to be recommended, referrals will be made for providers who specialize in that indicated area.
Interventions may include but are not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy, radically open dialectical behavior therapy, and exploration of psychodynamic and relational themes.
50 minutes, $200/session
Long-Term Psychotherapy
Online or in person in Richmond, long-term psychotherapy may range from several months to even longer after completing the required initial consultation.
This is helpful for individuals who want to establish care with a provider who can see them for unlimited sessions, assuming there is a clear treatment plan.
Scope will be focused on the presenting concern or stressor, and will be personalized to address the individual’s treatment goals.
Interventions may include but are not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy, radically open dialectical behavior therapy, and exploration of psychodynamic and relational themes.
50 minutes, $200/session
Group Psychotherapy
We offer educational and support groups for a variety of communities over the course of the year. These will be held in-person or over zoom depending on availability and interests of the group members. Our first group for parents of youth with eating disorders is currently accepting interested parents to the waitlist, and a start date and time will be determined once enough individuals have registered. We will do everything to hold this at a time that works for everyone. Register here if interested.

Gift a New Parent Our Services
We are listed on Be Her Village for expecting parents seeking alternative offerings for their baby registries - read more here, and consider giving any amount towards a new parent’s mental health support or opportunity to attend one of our many groups and events without the added financial stress for services not covered by insurance.
As of mid-September 2024, Dr. Legrand is in-network with Bluecross Blueshield of Vermont but Dr. Carpenter is not. Both Dr. Legrand and Dr. Carpenter expected to be paneled as in-network providers with Vermont Medicaid/Green Mountain Care by early to mid-November 2024.
We do not contract as in-network providers with any other insurance companies (e.g., we do not take Cigna, MVP, United, or Aetna), but we can provide a superbill for individuals wishing to see if they can be reimbursed by their insurance provider for having been seen by an out-of-network provider.
Both Dr. Legrand and Dr. Carpenter provide an optional sliding scale based on annual pre-taxed household income and number of individuals in the household. Some session fees are comparable to standard co-pays. Please note in your initial outreach to us if you would like to explore this option so that during our initial phone call we can provide you with a quote.
INSURANCE AND FEES
GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
